The Hoagie Half is a relay race built around running, sandwiches, and good times. Build a team of four, run your leg, and make your way through the Hoagie Half sandwich circuit.
RunToPlay turns the Hoagie Half into a game. Complete missions before, during, and after race day to unlock sandwich rewards and enjoy the full Hoagie Half experience.
Yes. The Hoagie Half is a four-person relay, so you'll need a crew of four to take part in the race.
Don't have a team? You can still participate in missions on the Spectator/Public path and earn prizes.
Create or sign in to your RunToPlay account, connect your Strava, and register for the Hoagie Half. Once you're set up, eligible activities can automatically track toward your missions.
Yes. Strava is used to automatically verify your running and recovery activities. Make sure your Strava account is connected to RunToPlay before you start completing missions.
There are two ways to complete the challenge:
- Spectator/Public path: run past all four sandwich stops (Meat & Bread, Say Hey Café, Cream Pony, and Vennie's) before race day
- Registrant path: assemble your crew, register for the Hoagie Half, then complete the race-day 5km mission through any stop
Either path unlocks sandwich-stop rewards and Your Prize when you finish.
No. Choose the Spectator/Public path or the registrant race-day path. Sandwich-stop missions are open to everyone with Strava connected; only the race-day mission requires Hoagie Half registration.
The race-day mission is for registered teams only. On September 12, complete a 5km run logged to Strava with a route that passes any of the four partner stops.
Each sandwich stop unlocks an in-store partner reward when you complete that stop mission. Finish either challenge path to unlock Your Prize.
The challenge begins August 29. Public sandwich-stop missions run through September 15. The registrant race-day mission is on September 12.
Make sure your Strava is connected to RunToPlay and that your activity meets the mission requirements. Activities can sometimes take time to sync, so give it a little time before trying again.
Absolutely not. This is about running, eating, and having fun. Run your leg, hit the stops, collect your rewards, and enjoy the sandwich circuit.
You recover. Complete the final recovery mission, unlock your reward at The Good Sauna, and call it a day. You've earned it.
